Use of Generative AI Tools – Author Instructions

For scholarly publishing, we acknowledge the benefits and difficulties brought about by the quick development of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), such as large language models (LLMs). Based on the broad guidelines offered by the position statement of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), IJAS has created the following policies to ensure transparency for the academic community.

  1. Permitted Use
    • Authors may use GenAI tools to assist with the following:
    • Language editing or grammar improvement, summarizing background literature (Provided that the author(s) declare the use of AI- assisted tools in their submitted manuscript)
  1. Unacceptable Use
    • Generative AI must not be used to generate original scientific content, results, or citations, fabricated references, data, or paraphrased content from AI tools are considered academic misconduct, AI tools must not be credited as authors.
    • Peer Review and Confidentiality: Reviewers are not permitted to use GenAI tools to analyze, review, and evaluate manuscripts that submitted to the journal.

* Our journal is committed to the regulations and guidelines of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research.
